England Can Find KP Replacement

Stuart Broad, the Twenty 20 International captain of the England Cricket Team has insisted that the team looks for a replacement for the flamboyant Kevin Pietersen who just retired from limited overs cricket as The Three Lions look to head to Sri Lanka to defend their crown in the ICC World Twenty 20 Championships in September. Speaking to the media prior to England’s Twenty 20 International match against the West Indies at Trent Bridge, Broad stated that this is the time that some of the youngsters raised their hands and become the mainstay of the England batting line up in Twenty 20 International cricket.

He also went on to add that Pietersen was a player who had consistently contributed with the bat to the team with scintillating performances at number 3 as well as while opening the batting and now that he is not with the team anymore, someone else has to step up and take the mantle.

Broad, however, is extremely confident that the young England Cricket Team can successfully defend their World Twenty 20 title in Sri Lanka. He has his hopes pinned on the likes of Eoin Morgan and up and comings players such as Jos Buttler as well as Jonny Bairstow to lead the team to glory once again. He thinks that one of these three players have the capability to take up the position of a destroyer for the team with their stroke play.

Pietersen retired from limited overs cricket after the England and Wales Cricket Board refused to allow him to play Twenty 20 Internationals and not One Day Internationals and will only turn out for the England Cricket Team in Tests. This has been a huge loss for the team but Broad insists that a suitable replacement can be found by the team.
